Oct 23-25, 2009  Dragons +10 went down 3-18 at Parc y Scarlets and that put paid to the weekend's Magners League bet from the off. Other scores flip-flopped and we ended on 3 out of 5. The Welsh Premiership accumulator finished on the same scoreline but the saving grace was the nap selection Llandovery -9 away at Pontypool coming up trumps with a thumping 68-21 win.

Oct 16-18, 2009  London Irish were the big disappointment as, following a great start on Friday evening with Dragons and Biarritz both doing the business for us, we were let down bigtime by the Irish at -12 losing at home to Llanelli Scarlets 25-27. Toulouse also cost us narrowly at -4 and winning 23-19 so a draw. Stade Francais gave us a consolation on the Sunday at +1 with a thrilling 29-27 win at Bath. 3 from 5 overall so we move on with relish and a slightly increased stake (10%) to next weekend - remember the importance of the staking plan, it's not JUST about rugby!

Oct 17, 2009  Welsh Premiership accumulator went down to a 2 from 5 success rate. Some freak results put paid to our chances of a nice pick-up.

Oct 9-11, 2009  Four correct from the seven-time accumulator this weekend so we're heading in the right direction for the season. PB was on the button with Ulster (Scr), Newport Dragons (+12), Cardiff Blues (-7) and Ospreys (+5) but was undone by Leinster (-7) who went down 9-12 at home to London Irish, Edinburgh (+12) who were trounced 31-7 at Stade Francais and Munster (Scr) who lost narrowly 31-27 at Northampton. The way we bet, selecting big accumulators obviously means a possible long wait until we hit the jackpot, but we will. As the weeks go by and the losing run lengthens, we shall introduce the staking plan essential to any betting strategy. This means that our stake will increase moderately each week as the law of averages takes effect and begins to favour us more and more. A longer losing run thus becomes more lucrative when the big one is landed as we have will have a larger stake that week. It's all very exciting isn't it? Stick with us - you only have to look further down this page to be convinced that we know what we're doing.

Oct 2-4, 2009  No bets were advised this weekend.

Sept 25-27, 2009  Well it has to be said this weekend was a desperately poor show by the Analyzer. Friday's 5-fold accumulator yielded just 1 correct prediction while Saturday's 5-fold, which included 4 Welsh Premiership games and 1 Magners League match, could only replicate that performance - Llandovery being the only handicap going our way. Nevertheless, I take solice from the fact that Paul has used up quite a few blanks this weekend - just aswell getting 1 out of 5 as 4 out of 5 - they're both losing bets! Have patience and persevere, we will come through. Check back in the Forum this Friday and Saturday 3rd/4th October for the weekend's handicap selections in the Magners League and Welsh Premiership.

Sept 18-19, 2009  4 out of 5 correct this weekend and the final game was the downer! PB started with the 4 Magners League Friday evening games by recommending an accumulator of handicap bets at 10/11 on Edinburgh, Leinster, Dragons and Connacht. They all duly obliged leaving everything riding on the 5th and final Magners game on Saturday evening between Scarlets and Munster. Our bet was Scarlets at -1 but Munster edged a thriller by 22-20. A near miss but this start to the season has left me with NO doubt that we are going to profit soon and profit BIG. This weekend we also started giving information on the Welsh Premiership. Paul says that he knows this league even better than the Magners so now that Paddy Power are offering win and handicap odds on all matches, we are going to take them on. Round one went to Paddy Power as the 5 Saturday games proved awkward for us (see forum) and disappointed with just 2 correct from the 5. Nevertheless, I believe in him and know that he will come up trumps before long. This coming Tuesday evening 22nd September there are 3 Welsh Premiership games so call back Tuesday afternoon for our recommended treble for the night. UPDATE: No selections were posted and it was just aswell because Paul's tentative fancies all went the other way!

Sept 11-13, 2009  With the season well underway now, we are now sharing the information of Paul Broddick. This weekend, although we didn't post the 5 selections, you'll have to take my word that he predicted all 5 Magners League fixtures correctly in the Handicap market. They were Munster -7 (v Cardiff), Edinburgh -16 (v Connacht), Ulster +14 (v Ospreys), Dragons +14 (v Leinster) and Glasgow -5 (v Scarlets). No bet was placed but this has given us just the boost needed for the new campaign.

April 11-12, 2009  Predictions best forgotten this weekend as the Heineken Cup Quarters elude PB and he suffers the ignominy of a clean sweep of losers. It happens!

April 4, 2009  A nice little double for The Analyzer as Glasgow(+8) win 38-21 at Scarlets and Munster(-6) beat Leinster 22-5. You can see his selections by clicking here.

March 28/29, 2009  Well, PB was bang on form again this afternoon. And he was spot on to reverse his selection in the Gloucester-Ospreys game too! Gloucester winning 17-0 (he had some choice words to describe the Ospreys teamsheet this morning and the result proves they were justifiable words). The second semi was close but Cardiff at -5 was the winning bet as they won by 11-5. It's all on Worcester tomorrow now. Update - No complaints today, Sunday, as Worcester are trounced 37-18 at Bristol so PB has to settle for 2 out of 3 this weekend.

March 21, 2009  Down to earth with a bump this weekend. Just the one correct prediction, Ireland at +3. Although Scotland at +13 was mighty close going down by 14 pts. We won't mention the Italy game! Now it's all over and the best team won the Grand Slam, it's onwards to the EDF Cup this coming weekend.

March 14-15, 2009  As you will see from the tips given in the Forum, there were 6 selections, all winning except the +7 Scotland handicap which couldn't have been closer with a score of 15-22 to Ireland meaning the prediction lost by 1 point! That put paid to the treble but 5 single bets out of 6 prevailed making a nice profit for the weekend.

Below is the bet that the Anayzer placed 'for a bit of fun' as he said. You can see that the selections are the same except that he obviously fancied Scotland to lose but by less than the 7 points they were receiving in the handicap! All in all, a VERY profitable weekend for the Analyzer.

PB strikes gold with this £10 treble on the Halftime / Fulltime predictions. You can see the selections and the Coral bookmaker's stamp on the right of the photo, bet placed at 11.08am on Sat 14th March (yesterday). Odds 9/5, 11/2 and 7/1. A photo of the cheque from Corals for £1,456 is included above!

March 6-8, 2009  No confident bets this weekend due to the Six Nations break.

March 1, 2009  After a bad start, the selections rallied to register 50% hit rate. The initial game in Paris saw the Wales -2 tip fade after a good start. Handicaps subsequently recovered with Scotland -8 and England +9 both winning. Total points showed 1from 3. The elusive treble is coming nearer for sure!

February 22, 2009  A comfortable winning tip in the end after some ill discipline from the Ulster forwards with 2 sin bins both resulting in Dragons tries. 26-16 the final score. PB also came up with the Connacht fancy, Ospreys winning 22-10 but the +15 handing the handicap spoils to the Irish. See Forum for full info.  Lets hope PB continues in this vein next weekend in week 3 of the Six Nations...

February 14/15, 2009   A weekend best forgotten and laid to rest in the annals of rugby betting history. All 3 handicap picks going the wrong way and just a 50% strike rate in the 2 Total Points markets selected. A message from PB though, he just said 'Have faith, I'll be back'...Don't forget that during the 2008 Six Nations, he tipped 5 handicap trebles, one on each weekend's fixtures and scooped 3 wining trebles from the 5. That I believe was extraordinarily good tipping combined with an element of good fortune - this is unlikely to re-occur for some years to come but just shows what the man is capable of. Onwards to Week 3.

February 7/8, 2009  We open the Six Nations campaign with a marginal profit after a creditable recovery following a bad start with the England v Italy game. But for the Bergamasco debacle gifting England a glut of first half points, we could be sitting on a very healthy profit. We tipped Italy +16 and a total match points of under 40.5. Both these went down thanks to the woeful selection of Bergamasco at scrum half. Italy lost 11-36 and total points crept over the 40 margin. However, P.B was soon back on track with Ireland at -2 comfortably getting the better of France then on Sunday a further 2 correct predictions when Wales -5 triumphed over Scotland by 26-13 at Murrayfield giving us the total points success of over 37.5 at odds of 5/6, albeit only just! The total pts profit for the 6 bets of 3 handicap singles (2 out of 3 correct), 1 handicap treble (down) and 2 total match points singles (1 ot of 2 correct) was +0.32. Pretty good for 3 out of 6 and profit is what it's all about.

January 31, 2009   No selections this weekend as the Six Nations looms next week.

January 25, 2009   5 out of 7 for the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) Heineken Cup games selected. The 2 incorrect bets were Harlequins -10 at home to Llanelli Scarlets, final score 29-24 to the Quins...and Bath off scratch at home to Toulouse, mudbath 3-3 draw! Close but not close enough there but what a game! Still, we recommended 5 singles of varying strength percentages and an accumulator (granted you would need to source the best overall bookie's odds for this) of 20%. If you followed this advice then you would have shown a profit, especially as our 95% ' Mortgage Bet' selection (the strongest bet of the year so far) Edinburgh +18 away to Leinster duly obliged, Leinster winning 12-3. Staunch Edinburgh defence was the name of the game there as Leinster dominated territory throughout.

January 23, 2009  2 out of 2 tonight. Cardiff just scraping ahead of the handicap winning 62-20 and Biarritz comfortably securing home advantage 24-10.

January 17/18, 2009   6 out of 11 over Sat/Sun showing about level profit-wise. Perpignan 17-0 up well into the 2nd half stuttered to concede the 15 points that we were in front by, to end in a handicap draw! Take out the European Challenge Cup matches and the Heineken selections look more respectable.  Don't forget that betting for profit is a long term strategy. 'Get Rich Quick' enthusiasts may well be disappointed with Rugby4Profit, we are here for the duration and that means taking the rough with the smooth! Until next week...don't work too hard.

January 16, 2009   Well last night we saw the bad side to the Analyzer's consistency! All 5 incorrect forecasts! It happens (but not very often thankfully!)

January 10, 2009   A disappointing Saturday with the Analyzer's French Top 14 selections letting us down - 2 from 6 with Perpignan and Clermont the only successes. Cancellations for Bath and Harlequins reduced the picks from 12 to 10 with 3 correct from 4 in the Guinness Premiership and Magners League. Even so, betting singles as recommended would only have yielded a very minor loss so it's not all bad - remember, it's not just about how much you win, it's also about how much you lose. Better luck next time!

January 9, 2009  Analyzer (Paul Broddick) hacks up with 5 correct handicap picks from 6. In fact, it was one of his most confident shouts that went down, Ospreys -2 at home to Munster. Well it was a close thing (21-25 final score) and the game did pan out pretty much as he suggested - Munster forward dominance in the scrum and lineout being thwarted by the Ospreys' backs' inventiveness. Anyway, a good night on the whole.

January 4, 2009  First game of the day makes it 8 on the bounce for the Analyzer. We take Bath at +8 and despite losing 14-12, if you work the maths on that one you can see we're in again.  The winning streak comes to an end with Harlequins at +4 away to Wasps. Final score 24-18 to the home side sees us sunk by 3 points. Que sera!

January 3, 2009  What a day today Saturday 3rd Jan. As I type this we are waiting for the 7th and final match of our selected games today. So far Analyzer has give Saracens +10 (at Gloucester), London Irish -16 (v. Newcastle), Northampton -9 (v. Bristol), Stade Francais -16 (v. Dax), Biarritz +3 (at Bourgoin) and Clermont -16  (v. Toulon). Six handicap selections and 6 correct! I have to hand it to the guy! We are waiting the Munster v Ulster game which kicked off 10mins ago at 1930. Analyzer has taken Ulster +14. Law of averages our luck HAS to come to an end sometime. Here's hoping though...

January 2, 2009  Ouch!! We took Edinburgh at +4 away to Glasgow. What a game...22-13 down with minutes to go, Edinburgh rallied to lose 25-20. We're turned over by 2 points! Can't win them all but it was a good run for the money! Back on track in the evening with Connaught +21 away to Leinster. Final score 26-18 to Leinster. We were also sorely tempted by the Halftime handicap of +10 available for Connaught but left it in favour of the Fulltime +21. Halftime score was 14-12 to Leinster.

January 1, 2009  Analyser advised a medium to strong bet of around 78% confidence in taking the Newport/Gwent Dragons at a Handicap of +9 and odds of 10/11 away to Llanelli Scarlets. Although the Scarlets triumphed, the margin of 5pts in the 29-24 scoreline ensured a nice pick-up for the tipster.
